Orlando has emerged in the last few years as "the" major destination for gay tourists. Orlando is home to one of the nation's highest population percentage of GLBT people. According to a study by UCLA, 7.7% of Orlando's population is gay, lesbian, or bisexual and with 5.7% of the entire metropolitan population, it ranks 9th in the nation. Orlando has the oldest gay community center in Florida.

Orlando's gay bars run from the seedy to the sublime. Here are just a few gay friendly places: Bear Bar, Faces, Firestone Club, Full Moon, Hanks, New Phoenix, Paradise, Parliament House (several bars and a hotel rolled into one) , Pulse, Savoy, and Wylde's of Orlando. At one of the Parliament House's bars, male dancers perform in little more than their skivvies. At another, a rough-and-tumble Western crowd hangs out. Drag queens come out at the establishments Footlight Theater.

While here, check out Orlando's Lava Lounge, Ritzy Rags Wigs & More, The Orlando Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, and Mojo Books.

And dont forget to check out Gay Days Orlando: A series of parties, performances and gatherings throughout the city around the first week of June, highlighted by trips en masse to the local theme parks - the Magic Kingdom included - where participants typically sport red T-shirts to stand out from other visitors. Four days and nights of legendary dance events, world-class entertainment, wet and rambunctious pool parties, plus "family fun" in the Disney parks. Chisholm's ONE MIGHTY WEEKEND festivities are the only Orlando Gay Days Weekend events hosted at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Over 140,000 attendees to this Orlando event. Many consider Gay Days to be "their" Pride Festival. After all, it's in June-and filled with every species of gay person imaginable. One of the world's largest GLBT travel & entertainment expos.

Gaybaseballdays.com hopes to raise awareness of gay and lesbian community days with MLB teams, and encourage other teams to recognize their gay and lesbian fan base.
